A huge thank you to our November Partner of the Month Jayne Gulliver

Meet Jayne our October Partner of the Month! As always, we would like to extend a big thank you to Jayne for all her hard work and support to our clients.

Keep reading to find out some interesting facts about her time with the company…

What is your favourite part of working as a Senior Move Manager?
How much our clients really appreciate what we do for them and at speed. A lot are not able, in different ways and have less energy and mobility than ourselves. When the removals have left on move day they're normally exhausted, I've had clients fall asleep on the sofa whilst you're unpacking the kitchen. So lovely that they trust us and feel at ease too, you really feel like you're making a difference to the start of their new chapter.

What part of your work do you find the hardest?
When you get to an unpack, they've brought so much that you don't have anywhere to put anything, they're overwhelmed and stressed by their own belongings they've brought with them. you then leave them with a lot more sorting and downsizing to do, in some cases you don't know when or if this will get done. Always tell myself we can only do as much as possible.

What did you do before becoming a SMM?

I worked in Marketing and Advertising in a retail head office which I loved too. Although being out of a 9-5 office has given me the flexibility to be at home more with my family.

What misconceptions do people have about our work?

They either think we're the removal company coming to pack or that we're going to make them get rid of all of their things!

If you get a free moment, what do you do to unwind?

With 3 little ones, a quiet coffee in the sunshine or a run around the block in the countryside does the trick. Although I have to say a rare paddleboard down the river on a summers evening is bliss!

What is the most unique request you have dealt with for a client and how did you do so?

A client asked me to make them dinner on move day, wheelchair bound and carers weren't coming in until bedtime. I heated them up something and checked the carers knew where to come that evening. Made me realise what we take for granted everyday and we're even more valued being a SMM when there isn't a close network of family and friends to help.
